Quick Recipe Stats

  • Total Prep & Cook Time: 40 minutes

  • Yields: 12–14 puffs

  • 4 simple core ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 (10-ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough

  • ¼ cup peanut butter (any variety you prefer)

  • ¼ cup jelly (any flavor)

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon-sugar mixture (optional)

Step-by-Step Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the pizza dough to an even ⅛-inch thickness. Use a 3-inch round cookie cutter or the rim of a small drinking glass to cut out dough circles; re-roll any leftover scraps to cut more circles if needed.

  3. Place ½ teaspoon of peanut butter and ½ teaspoon of jelly in the center of each dough circle — do not spread the filling out. Pull the edges of the dough up around the filling and pinch firmly to seal completely. Arrange each puff seam-side down on a greased cookie sheet.

  4. Lightly brush the top of each puff with water or egg wash (made by beating 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of water). If using, sprinkle cinnamon-sugar over the tops before baking.

  5. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, until the puffs are lightly golden brown all over.

  6. Let the puffs cool for at least 10 minutes before serving — jelly becomes extremely hot after baking! Serve warm. To reheat leftover puffs, microwave each puff on medium heat for about 5 seconds.

Yummy! Just be careful not to overfill these, or sealing the dough gets really tricky. Thanks for posting this fun recipe!

Oops! I just realized I forgot to review this recipe! Back on July 5th I made these using homemade dough from Recipe #23565, and they turned out absolutely delicious! They were such a fun project to make too. I used an empanada crimper to cut my circles and crimp the edges shut. To speed up the filling step, I stirred the peanut butter and jelly together in a small bowl first, then used a toddler spoon to drop a teaspoon of the mixture into each circle. We used smooth peanut butter and blackberry jelly — so good! Thanks for sharing, OhSheila! I made these for the Zaar Chef Alphabet tag game and everyone loved them.

I just had to write another review for this. I’ve shared this recipe with other moms, and every single kid loves it! We’ve discovered you can swap pizza dough for other types too — I picked up a 39-cent can of biscuit dough the other day and it came out just as yummy. My friend uses crescent dough, and that works great too. No matter what dough you use, this recipe is fantastic!

All I can say is OUTSTANDING. Very easy and so yummy too!!! Just be sure to seal the edges really well, or you’ll end up with major jelly leaks. Mine only took about 10 minutes to bake, and they were perfectly done. Super good paired with a big glass of cold milk! YUM!
